Madrid's "Real" club has shown serious interest in the possibility of acquiring Ajax's midfielder Donny van de Beek.
According to "Marca" and "Telegraaf", the "whites" have already contacted the Dutch club and informed them of their desire to start negotiations for the purchase of the 22-year-old player from Amsterdam.
The Spanish newspaper reports that the first conversation was not particularly successful, as Ajax indicated that they want 65 million euros for the midfielder, who had a great season in both local championships and the Champions League.
The high price is influenced not only by his excellent performances but also by the prices of other players leaving Ajax - Frenkie de Jong joined Barcelona for 75 million euros, and Matthijs de Ligt could cost the same amount.
Real Madrid sees D. van de Beek as an alternative to Paul Pogba, but even if they acquire the Dutch player, they will not give up on their plans to bring in the French midfielder from "Man Utd."
Real want Van de Beek in their ranks, but they hope to negotiate a much lower transfer fee with Ajax - they are not willing to pay more than 50 million euros.
Zinedine Zidane wants to see a midfielder with great attacking abilities in his team, and D. van de Beek is one such player - last season he scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists.
