Youth talents of Ajax in Amsterdam that are targeted by foreign clubs will have to wait.
The director of the Eredivisie team, Marc Overmars, announced that in January the team will not sell either midfielder Frenkie de Jong or defender Matthijs de Ligt.
"I think it is well known that neither of them will leave the Ajax club during the winter transfer window. There is no chance, no matter how much compensation is offered," said the Dutchman.
"Of course, we know that some of our players have reached such a level that it will simply be impossible to keep them in the future.
We can talk about 3-4 players, but we would like to lose as few of them as possible. We do not intend to sell all the leaders," Overmars reassured.
It was previously reported that clubs like Barcelona or Man City are aiming for Ajax's young talents.
