The attacking potential and wanting to expand London's "Arsenal" club received calls from Amsterdam's "Ajax" director Marco Overmars to start negotiations about Hakim Ziyech.
The 26-year-old footballer, who scored 21 goals and made 24 assists last season, is available this summer for around 30 million euros.
Unexpectedly, H. Ziyech is not linked to famous clubs and it is still possible that he will continue to play for the "Ajax" team.
The "Ajax" director himself, who wore the "Arsenal" jersey during his playing career, said that H. Ziyech has been given permission to leave. M. Overmars emphasized that they would not have major problems selling him to the "Gunners".
"I think Ziyech is better than Mesut Ozil. I would advise the Arsenal club to sell him and use half of that amount to acquire Hakim. However, I do not think they will listen to me," - said M. Overmars.
He also added: "Currently, the situation is such that we have good chances of keeping him for another season."
