The new CEO of "Ajax" club did not last long in his position.

Alex Kroes, who was introduced just two weeks ago, has been officially suspended today, according to an official statement from the club.

The 49-year-old Dutchman was suspended for purchasing more than 17,000 club shares before taking up his duties. According to "Ajax," this is "a violation of rules that cannot be tolerated."

The Amsterdam club currently sits in fifth place in the Eredivisie championship. They risk not even qualifying for the Europa League.

In the off-season, the first team of "Ajax" is expected to be taken over by a new coach, the search for which has already begun.
