"Ajax" returns to the battles of the UEFA Champions League after three years

On Tuesday, the first three second-leg matches of the UEFA Champions League playoff round were played.

Amsterdam's "Ajax" secured a place in this year's group stage. The legendary Dutch team, which last played in the most prestigious European tournament in the 2014-15 season, did not lose in Ukraine and moved on.

Dusan Tadic could have ended the whole intrigue in the 14th minute, but missed the penalty shot. However, Kiev's "Dynamo" could not respond and the match ended goalless - 0:0.

This result satisfied "Ajax" as they won the first match 3:1.

In other matches, Zagreb's "Dinamo" painfully bid farewell to the possibility of playing in the Champions League group stage. The Croats took the lead at the beginning of the match, but in the second half, they conceded two goals in two minutes from "Young Boys" forward Guillaume Hoarau and said goodbye to their dream with a final result of 2:3.

"Young Boys" defending the Swiss honor reached the Champions League group stage for the first time in their club's history.

In other matches, Athens' AEK players reached a favorable draw and for the first time since 2006 will play in the Champions League. The Greeks proved their superiority with a final score of 3:2 and secured a ticket to the group stage.
