The head coach of the Lithuanian national football team, Algimantas Liubinskas, was not in the best mood after the last World Cup qualifier match against Belgium, which ended in a 1-1 draw, but he said he believed in the team's prospects.
"We didn't score goals. We had more opportunities to score than our opponents. Mantas Savėnas alone had three chances, and Tomas Danilevičius could have also scored," A. Liubinskas said at a press conference. "A little bit of luck was missing for the victory.
There have been many changes in the team. We have a team that fights from the first to the last minute of the match. They will still have their say. We can expect results from this team in the next qualifying cycle."
