All football players competing in the A league together cost almost half as much as the only German national team goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Such a summary can be made by analyzing the data provided by the popular football market website transfermarkt.com. Domination of Zalgiris players In the list of the most expensive A league football players compiled by experts based in Hamburg, members of the country's champion Vilnius team "Zalgiris" dominate. Zalgiris players occupy as many as seven spots in the top ten. Among the defenders of the country's champions Jakub Wilk, Andro Svrliuga, Georg Freidgeimas, Mantas Kuklys, Jurij Kendys, Sergey Nyuiadzi, and Linas Pilibaicius, only Marijampole's "Suduva" right-back defender Marko Zivkovicius, his teammate Karolis Chvedukas and Kaunas "Spiris" leader Dmitrijus Rekisas are interspersed. However, Lithuanian FIFA licensed agent Paulius Paknys advises not to blindly rely on the sums listed on the same website. In his opinion, the player's market value is influenced by many small factors. "Everything is not as it is written, but you can get a general idea from those listed prices. On the other hand, there are many football players whose market values are greatly inflated," the agent noted. The 30-year-old agent P.Paknys took up the job as soon as he put on his football boots. During his career, he managed to represent the country's youth teams and played for Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Azerbaijani, and Polish clubs for almost a decade. Is J.Wilk overrated? The 29-year-old Zalgiris player J.Wilk, who has worn the shirts of Polish and Romanian clubs during his career, has held the title of the most expensive A league player for two consecutive years. The Pole's market value dropped by almost half during the season - to 400 thousand euros, but he still remains at the top of this list. "Last year the Germans assessed the Pole at 700 or 800 thousand euros, although no club would certainly pay that much for him," P.Paknys recalled. In the specialist's opinion, even this year the market value of this player seems completely inadequate. "I have colleagues in Poland and other countries. I know that at the moment some clubs would not even take Jakub for free," the agent smiled. - I think that amount is greatly inflated. In my opinion, to acquire this player, it would be enough to pay at most 50 thousand euros." According to the licensed FIFA agent, J.Wilk is probably not even the most expensive player in the Champions team. "In my opinion, Elivelto's market value should be much higher (at the moment the Brazilian is valued at 100 thousand euros). He is young, perspective, moves well on the field, and most importantly, scores goals," P.Paknys assessed.
