According to Cadena Cope, the Spanish Football Federation has issued an official statement to the country's football league, stating that they do not agree for the matches between Barcelona and Girona clubs to take place in Miami on January 27th.
La Liga president Javier Tebas has made an agreement with a billion-dollar American company for some Spanish championship matches to be played in the USA and Canada.
However, neither the league clubs nor the Spanish Football Federation agreed to this. RFEF President Luis Rubiales previously said in an interview that there is "zero percent chance that the Barcelona - Girona match will take place in Miami".
The Spanish Football Federation has instructed their country's football league that the decision to prohibit La Liga matches from being played outside the country was endorsed by both FIFA and UEFA.
