"Top500" magazine has traditionally compiled the list of the richest people in Lithuania. The 2024 list includes several individuals associated with Lithuanian football.
In a respectable 16th place on the list is the president of the A league and the main shareholder of "Top Sport," Gintaras Staniulis. His wealth is estimated at 340 million euros. He is currently the sole shareholder of "Top Sport," and the company’s profits and revenues have been increasing every year.
G. Staniulis once tasted the life of a basketball player but, seeing limited prospects, blended sports and business until he established "Top Sport" with Dainius Gulbinas.
The 55-year-old entrepreneur became the president of the A league in February 2024. He succeeded Janas Nevoinas in this position. Prior to this event, "Top Sport" became the general sponsor of the league.
Arvydas Avulis, aiming to expedite the construction of the national stadium, occupies the 18th place on the list with a wealth of 330 million. He is the chairman of the "Hanner" board. Thanks to him, a new stadium that meets UEFA standards has emerged in the city of Vilnius on Bukčių Street.
The list also includes Petras Narbutas (200 million), who manages the "Narbutas" company. The businessman, ranked 33rd, owns the football club "Vilnius," nurturing plans to develop youth talents and potentially become Lithuanian champions.
It is worth mentioning that former LFF vice president Nemunas Dagilis (45 million) is the 179th richest person in Lithuania with his "Nordic Idea" business.
In 184th place is Tadas Langaitis, a board member of "Kilo Health," whose wealth amounts to 44 million. He is known for his ambitions to engage in the Kybartai "Sveikatos" project. However, news about the oldest football club in Lithuania has been increasingly scarce lately – the continuity of the project is uncertain.
The richest person in Lithuania remains Gediminas Žiemelis. The top 500 also features a number of basketball players and several former ice hockey players.
