On Sunday afternoon in the Netherlands, an important match was played in the fight for the Eredivisie champions title.
In the 26th round match in Rotterdam, Feyenoord defeated Ajax 3:2 in an away game.
The hosts, who did not handle the tension well, started the match quite poorly. In the 5th minute, Santiago Gimenez put Feyenoord ahead.
Soon after, Ajax started playing a completely different game. In the 17th minute, Edson Alvarez equalized the score, and just before the end of the first half, Dusan Tadic turned the score in favor of the Ajax team.
After the break, everything turned upside down again. Sebastian Szymanski equalized the score in the 52nd minute when the hosts' defense faltered.
A goal scored in the 86th minute by Lutsharel Geertruida determined Feyenoord's important victory.
Following this victory, Arne Slot's team now has a 6-point advantage at the top of the Eredivisie table against their closest pursuers.
