And still no victory: "Man City" fails to beat "Southampton" at home (VIDEO)

At 15 hours and 30 minutes Lithuania time the penultimate match of the 9th round of the English Premier League took place.

At the "Etihad" stadium, Manchester City faced Southampton. Pep Guardiola's players failed to win for the third consecutive time - they played a draw with the "saints" 1-1.

In the first half, the "citizens" struggled to create a more dangerous attack against the opponents' goal. In the 27th minute, the hosts were punished - after a rough mistake by John Stones, Nathan Redmond alone against the goalkeeper put the guests ahead.

In the 30th minute, the score became equal, but as it soon became clear - it was disallowed. J. Stones sent the ball into the Southampton goal with his head after a set-piece, but the referee disallowed it for a Sergio Aguero offside, who also participated in the attack.

In the second half, Kelechi Iheanacho appeared instead of Kevin De Bruyne. P. Guardiola played with two forwards and in the 55th minute it paid off - K. Iheanacho equalized the score after a great pass from Leroy Sane.

In the remaining time, the "citizens" pressed the opponents, but they couldn't break through the solid defense of Jose Fonte and Virgil Van Dijk, and the match ended in a draw.

Even after two consecutive draws, Man City did not lose their leader position. The Manchester team, along with Arsenal and Liverpool, has 20 points each, but they remain in first place due to a better goal difference.

Result:

Manchester City 1 - 1 Southampton
