One of the best center-backs in Italy has signed a new long-term contract with the club and will remain there at least until the summer of 2011. The footballer's contract was valid until the end of the next season, so the leaders of the Milan team rushed to stay ahead of rumors and tie A.Nesta to the club for another four years. "We officially announce that A.Nesta has signed a new contract, valid until June 30, 2011," said a press release from Milan. The 31-year-old defender put on the "Rossoneri" jersey in 2002 when he arrived from his hometown club "SS Lazio" for about 30 million euros. Since then, he has been a key player for both Milan and the Italian national team, considered one of the best representatives of his position in the world. In 124 matches for Milan, A.Nesta has managed to score two goals.
