On Friday, "France Football" announced a list of 30 contenders who will compete to win the "Golden Ball" award. Among the candidates is Italian Jorginho, whose teams have performed exceptionally well in the UEFA Champions League and in the continental championships. The list also includes the names of other European champions, as well as athletes who have become legends. Danish player Simon Kjaer is also mentioned for his heroism displayed in a match against Finland during the summer. The winner of the prestigious award will be revealed on November 29th in Paris. The votes for the best player award will be cast by the candidates themselves and 180 journalists from around the world.
