After UEFA introduced the Financial Fair Play rule, money spent on players' salaries started to be carefully calculated. The report of the year 2014 reveals the twenty most generous teams to their footballers. The total expenses are indicated by numbers.
In this list, the English Premier League has the most representatives - six teams. Also, in the top twenty, there are four Italian and German teams, three Spanish clubs, and one representative each from Turkey, Russia, and France.
Interestingly, even five teams out of twenty did not play in the UEFA Champions League last season, with Manchester United taking the second place, surpassing the strongest European team, Barcelona.
It is worth mentioning that Juventus, who played in the Champions League final, ranks only in ninth place. Meanwhile, the eliminated Real Madrid from the semi-finals is at the top of the spenders.
