The ambitious Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala bought defender Chris Samba for 14 million euros. The 27-year-old footballer did not hide his desire to leave the English team, so he has not played since the beginning of last month. Although he failed to reach an agreement with any Western European team, Anzhi's offer satisfied both parties. The winter transfer window in Russia closed only on Friday night. Born in France, Samba arrived in Blackburn in 2007 from the Hertha Berlin team and scored 16 goals in 161 matches. He joined such famous and expensive Anzhi acquisitions as Roberto Carlos, Yuri Zhirkov, and Samuel Eto'o. The famous Dutchman Guus Hiddink was appointed as the coach of the Makhachkala club a few days ago, with the responsibility of acquiring new players.
