Appeal against C. Ronaldo's suspension - rejected

"Real" Madrid failed to ensure that Cristiano Ronaldo's disqualification for five matches would be overturned - the appeal was rejected today. The star of the Portuguese national team was punished for pushing the referee after receiving a second yellow card for diving. Indeed, the 32-year-old sniper can even be happy with such a suspension, as he faces watching up to 12 "royal" club matches from the stands. Ronaldo will have to miss the return Spanish Super Cup match against Barcelona and the first four La Liga matches. Real will play against Deportivo La Coruna, Valencia, Levante, and Real Sociedad from San Sebastian.
