Seven candidates will compete in the elections on February 26 for the position of FIFA president.
They are Ali bin al-Hussein, Musa Bility, Jerome Champagne, Gianni Infantino, Michel Platini, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa, and Tokyo Sexwale.
David Nakhid was not included in the list, although he claimed to have submitted his candidacy.
Who are these candidates? Ali bin al-Hussein is the 39-year-old president of the Jordanian Football Federation.
48-year-old M. Bility holds the same position in Liberia. 57-year-old J. Champagne is a former FIFA member, 45-year-old G. Infantino is the General Secretary of UEFA.
Sixty-something M. Platini is the president of UEFA and a FIFA Vice President. He is highly valued by his peers.
49-year-old Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa is the President of the Asian Football Confederation. And 62-year-old T. Sexwale is a former Minister of the Government of South Africa.
