The "Manchester United" reinforcement in defense decided to reward current team defender Chris Smalling with a new contract, tying his future to the "Red Devils".
Earlier in the match against "Liverpool", "Man Utd" announced that C. Smalling had put pen to paper on a new deal, valid until 2022. The contract includes the option to extend cooperation for another year.
"I am happy to continue my journey with the "Man Utd" team," the defender wrote. "It is a huge honor to play for such a club and I want to thank all the people I have been with for the past nine years."
C. Smalling arrived in Manchester in 2010. In total, the defender has played 307 matches and scored 18 goals for "Man Utd".
The previous contract of the footballer was set to expire at the end of the season.
