Argentinian strategist: "Messi is still the most important in the national team"

Argentinian national team coach Lionel Scaloni believes that his namesake Lionel Messi is still the most important person in the national team.

As acknowledged by the Barcelona forward himself, this year's Copa America championship is not personally the most successful for him. L. Messi scored only one goal in four games, and lately the driving force of the offense has become Lautaro Martinez.

"Messi, like most of his teammates, is a key figure in this Argentine national team," Scaloni began the conversation.

"If you really saw how much he contributes to the atmosphere in the dressing room and how much he helps his teammates on the field, I think we would speak differently.

I can guarantee that he is a big part of this team. Messi is Messi. He is always the best, regardless of others," Scaloni added.
