London's "Arsenal" club announced just a few minutes before the transfer window deadline that they acquired defender Nacho Monreal from the "Malaga" team.

The left-back player was decided to be acquired by coach Arsene Wenger after the main player in this position, Kieran Gibbs, got injured during the match against "Liverpool".

Recently, also playing in this position, Andre Santos showed very poor performance.

"We thought K.Gibbs would not play for up to three weeks, but the situation is worse than expected and he will be out for 4 to 6 weeks. Monreal can also play in the left-back position. We believe he will fit well into the team and match our playing style," said A.Wenger.

The player moved to "Malaga" in the summer of 2011 from the "Osasuna" team, and unofficially "Arsenal" paid around 10 million euros for the Spaniard.

In the Malaga team, Nacho Monreal played 54 matches, in which he scored once and made 9 assists.
