On Wednesday evening in England, the intriguing semi-final match of the response league cup took place between two London clubs.
Once again, "Arsenal" and "Chelsea" clashed at the Emirates Stadium. After a missed goal, Arsene Wenger's players defeated "Chelsea" with a score of 2-1 and advanced to the tournament final.
The match started very successfully for the guests - after a great pass by Pedro, Eden Hazard escaped from the opponents' defenders and sent the ball into "Arsenal" goal with a precise shot.
"Chelsea" gained a minimal advantage, but the lead did not last long. In the 12th minute, Nacho Monreal headed in the ball after a corner kick, the ball hit Antonio Rudiger's back and ricocheted into the goal. The score became 1-1.
The teams exchanged goals, but this result still did not satisfy the "Gunners", as they had not scored in the opponents' penalty area, so "Chelsea" had the advantage.
However, in the second half, "Arsenal" found gaps in "Chelsea's" defense and fought their way to the next stage. In the 60th minute, the author of the winning goal unexpectedly became defensive midfielder Granit Xhaka, who found himself in the penalty area.
In the final of the English League Cup, the "Arsenal" team will have to compete with the most stable team of this season, "Manchester City". The final will take place at the "Wembley" Stadium on February 25th.
