The footballer suffered a fracture in his right ankle and will be out for six to eight weeks.
23-year-old J. Wilshere sustained the injury on Saturday during training. On Sunday, Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0.
The player will not need surgery, but recovery could take up to two months.
Last season, the defender missed five months due to a fracture in his left ankle.
