Already 18 months London representatives did not communicate with the Spanish striker Fernando Torres, says the player's agent. It is speculated that next season Arsene Wenger will seek to attract the Madrid "Atletico" star to England, as he could perfectly replace Thierry Henry if needed.
During last weekend's matches in Madrid with "Sevilla," "Arsenal" scout Steve Rowley was noticed observing the young Spaniard's game, but the player's agent Jose Antonio Martin firmly states that both parties have not communicated for more than a year and a half.
"To be honest, I don't even remember the last time I spoke with the 'Arsenal' representatives," said J.A. Martin, "But I can assure you that recently they definitely did not contact us."
Torres's contract includes a clause allowing him to leave the club by paying a £60 million compensation fee - a price that even deterred another London club "Chelsea" this summer.
