„Arsenal“ is already preparing for the new season. Officially announced that the London club has acquired goalkeeper Matt Turner from the „New England Revolution“ club, which plays in the MLS („Major League Soccer“) league. Matt Turner is an American with Lithuanian roots. The goalkeeper also has a Lithuanian passport, which he obtained in 2020, as his great-grandmother was Lithuanian and fled Lithuania during World War II. M. Turner's father's family is of Jewish descent, and the surname Turner was obtained after immigrating to the USA. According to MLS rules, the goalkeeper was not even called up in the rookie draft, but he has established a good career in this league, as a result of which he attracted the attention of „Arsenal“. The American with Lithuanian roots will join the ranks of the „Gunners“ this summer and is expected to replace Bernd Leno, who is looking to leave. M. Turner has already played for the US national team multiple times and has recently been the main goalkeeper for the national team, so he will no longer be able to represent Lithuania.
