In the English Premier League on Sunday, seven matches of the 31st round were played.

The first match took place at the Emirates Stadium, where London's Arsenal faced Liverpool. Arsene Wenger's players easily defeated their opponents from Liverpool with a score of 4-1.

The match started with Arsenal dominating. Right from the first minute, Arsenal players pressed their opponents and created attack after attack.

However, they failed to score a goal, and after some time Brendan Rodgers' players started to show initiative. Finally, the first goal came in the 37th minute, when Alberto Moreno scored a great goal from the right side, beating Simon Mignolet.

Another goal did not take long, and just three minutes later the score was already 2-0 on the scoreboard. Mesut Ozil scored from about 25 meters with a penalty kick.

Arsenal's team did not settle with just that in the first half, and in the 45th minute, they started to crush their opponents, with an impressive goal from Alexis Sanchez.

The next 45 minutes belonged to the hosts again. In the 76th minute, Jordan Henderson scored from the penalty spot to revive some intrigue in the match, but just after eight minutes Liverpool was reduced to ten men - Emre Can was sent off for a second yellow card.

Arsenal took advantage of this and had at least three more opportunities to score. The final point in this match was made by Olivier Giroud in the 90th minute after a pass from A.Sanchez.

After the victory, Arsenal climbed to second place, while Liverpool decreased their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

In other matches, the Manchester United club secured an important victory, defeating Aston Villa 3-1. The goals for the winners were scored by Wayne Rooney and Ander Herrera twice.

Wins were also achieved by Liverpool's Everton, Leicester City, Swansea, and Queen's Park Rangers.

In the last evening match, London's Chelsea welcomed Stoke City in front of their own fans. The 'Blues' team won 2-1 against the visitors.

In the 39th minute, Eden Hazard scored the opening goal from the penalty spot, but at the end of the first half, an impressive goal was scored into Chelsea's net. Charlie Adam defeated Thibaut Courtois from about 60 meters.

The decisive goal was scored by Loic Remy in the 62nd minute, after an excellent E.Hazard run. Jose Mourinho's players comfortably lead the English championship with 70 points.
