London Board Chairman Peter Hill Wood is convinced that Robin van Persie will stay in the team.
The Netherlands national team striker's contract will expire in 2013, and negotiations for its extension will begin after the season.
"We did not talk to Robin, but I recently spoke with coach Arsene Wenger. He is convinced that Van Persie will not go anywhere - we really hope so after this amazing season," one of the "Arsenal" leaders told "Daily Star."
It is said that before making a decision, the Dutchman will consider Arsenal's efforts to strengthen the squad. The first steps have already been taken - a handshake agreement with German national team striker Lukas Podolski.
In addition, there is interest in "Rennes" midfielder Yann M'Villa, but Wenger is cautious: "It is not true that an agreement has been reached. We have not contacted anyone, made no offers, and are not close to an agreement. We are focusing on the final match of the season."
In the Premier League, Van Persie scored 30 goals in 37 matches.
