"Roma" defender Kostas Manolas' agent Ioannis Evangelopoulos revealed that his client was attempted to be acquired by London's "Arsenal".
The capital city club had made an offer of nearly 40 million euros in the summer, but the deal could not be finalized.
Eventually, the "Gunners" squad was supplemented by "Valencia" player Shkodran Mustafi, who cost them 41 million.
"I cannot say where Kostas would like to play, but it will be interesting to see which teams will knock on our door for him," Evangelopoulos told Sport FM.
"Roma" rejected nearly 40 million euros offer from "Arsenal" in the summer. The "Gunners" were really interested, but the demands of "Roma" were higher than what they were willing to pay."
"A transfer in January? There is no news here. There is no guarantee that it will happen this winter, but there will likely be offers. However, in football, predicting anything is generally difficult."
"A move to China? We are talking about very big offers. These numbers are astonishing, but Kostas has the choice to play at the highest level and, I would say, China does not match his ambitions."
"Football in Europe can offer more than just money - it is also about fame and recognition."
Last week, "Sky Italia" reported that Manolas is of interest to Liverpool's "Everton".
