The new coach Unai Emery was introduced today by London's "Arsenal" and also signed the most lucrative sponsorship contract with "Visit Rwanda", which from now on will be the official tourism partner of the club.
The "Gunners" aim to keep up with other wealthy Premier League clubs and recently extended their partnership with main sponsor "Fly Emirates" for another five years, now adding another logo to the team's jerseys.
According to Goal.com sources, "Visit Rwanda" will have to invest 10 million pounds annually for this advertisement, which is significantly more than a spot on any other sleeve.
For comparison, London's "Chelsea" partnership with "Hyundai" and Manchester City's contract with "Nexen Tire" are valued at 6 million pounds per year.
According to the terms of the agreement, even Arsenal players themselves will have to visit Rwanda when the club coaches hold soccer camps for children in the country.
Interestingly, Rwandan President Paul Kagame is a loyal "Gunners" fan and often expresses his opinion about them on social media.
As I had said way back and just as a good observer...something fundamental needed to change at/about the club. But if anything changed it was not the right one. All the best to all involved! We still need Arsenal to go back where it belongs- up there among the best in the game!
