Chairman Chips Keswick of London's "Arsenal" in a statement on the club's website expressed support for coach Arsene Wenger.
Despite the fact that the coach is under a lot of pressure, and demands for the Frenchman's dismissal are growing louder after the humiliation in the UEFA Champions League, Keswick, it seems, is not planning to listen to the fans' requests.
In this banker's opinion, the decision about Wenger's future will need to be made through mutual agreement and should be focused on the long-term perspective.
"We can clearly see the attention currently surrounding the club and understand the controversies," the statement reads.
"We respect the fact that the fans have the right to their individual opinions, but we will always manage this great football club focusing on its long-term interests."
"Arsene's contract is valid until the end of the season. Any decisions we make will be made mutually and announced at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner."
However, Wenger himself stated that he intends to take the fans' opinion into account when making a decision about his future.
