London's "Arsenal" will start negotiations with Leon Goretzka after the New Year, according to the English newspaper "Daily Mail". The Gelzenkirchen's "Schalke" defender could potentially become a replacement for the yet unsigned Mesut Ozil on a new contract.
If successful, the "gunners" would also get Goretzka for free, as his contract with the German club expires in the summer of 2018.
The 22-year-old footballer is one of the team leaders, so attracting him will not be easy. On the other hand, the presence of Sead Kolasinac, who joined "Arsenal" last summer from "Schalke", could help lure him in.
The Bosnian quickly became a favorite among the "gunners" fans, and he plays a very important role on the field, so Goretzka will surely look up to him as an example.
In this season, the German has scored four goals in nine "Bundesliga" matches.
