"Aston Villa" club sold to Chinese entrepreneur for 60 million pounds

"Aston Villa" club's longtime owner Randy Lerner has finally found a suitable buyer and sold the club for £60 million to businessman from China Dr Tony Jiantongui Xia.

"Aston Villa" this season experienced one of the toughest seasons in the club's history. The legendary club from Birmingham, England, in the "Premier" league, won only 17 points in 38 games and withdrew to the "Championship" competition.

Former owner of "Aston Villa" R. Lerner himself admitted earlier that because of his fault the club had such a poor season. He stated that he would have been willing to sell the club earlier, but did not find reliable buyers and wanted to pass the club's reins into the right hands.

"Aston Villa" is pleased to announce that today a contract for 100% ownership of the club was signed, which Randy Lerner is transferring to the owner of "Recon Group" Dr Tony Jiantongui Xia," - stated on the official website.

Officially the club will belong to "Recon Group", and Dr Tony Jiantongui Xia will take over as chairman.
