On Saturday evening, the central match of the 13th round of the Bundesliga took place. Munich's Bayern defeated Leverkusen's Bayer 2-1 away and climbed to the top spot in the standings. Bayer started the game more successfully and in the 14th minute, Patrick Schick led his team forward with a fantastic strike. The same Czech doubled Bayer's advantage in the 28th minute, but after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to offside. Germany's champions were saved by none other than the best FIFA player of the year, Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker equalized in the 43rd minute and expanded Bayern's lead during added time in the second half.
