At the end of the match, Chile defeated Cameroon (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

On Sunday at 9pm, at the "Otkrytiye Arena" in Moscow, the Confederations Cup Group B match between the teams of Chile and Cameroon began.

The meeting started with lightning-fast attacks from the South American champions. In the 2nd minute, E. Vargas could have given Chile an advantage, but hit the crossbar.

Shortly after, J. Fuenzalida skillfully deceived the opponents' defenders, but F. Ondoa was in the right place.

After recovering from the shock, the Africans launched a dangerous attack in the 12th minute.

After a few moments, Cameroon managed to score, but referee D. Skomina detected a foul on A. Vidal and disallowed the goal.

In the 24th minute, E. Puchas attempted to score from a distance, but F. Ondoa blocked the shot.

Chile did not give up and continued to create dangerous attacks, but the African champions managed to defend themselves.

Finally, in the 34th minute, H. Broos's pupils took possession of the ball and Moukandjo's shot flew alongside the crossbar.

However, the most interesting events unfolded at the end of the half - E. Vargas hit the crossbar from a comfortable position, and soon after, in the final seconds, finally scored by defeating F. Ondoa. The celebrating Chilean forwards were unpleasantly surprised when the assistant referee, following the video review, advised the referee not to count the goal due to a minimal offside.

In the second half, Chile failed to threaten the opponents with dangerous attacks.

Seeing this, Coach J. A. Pizzi decided to bring one of the main players, A. Sanchez, onto the field.

In the 71st minute, M. Isla missed a great opportunity and did not direct the ball towards the empty goal.

Chile, who had been dreaming about three points, achieved their goal and scored in the 82nd minute when A. Sanchez made a great pass into the penalty area and A. Vidal defeated the helpless F. Ondoa - 1:0.

At the end of the match, the spectators could once again see how the video assistant referee system works, as during a quick attack, the Chilean team scored a goal, but the assistant referee decided not to count it due to an offside. The frozen players revived after a few seconds when the referee showed that the rules were not violated - 2:0.

Result:

Chile 2 - 0 Cameroon

82' [1 - 0] A. Vidal

90' [2 - 0] E. Vargas
