On Friday the fifth round of the German Bundesliga championship kicked off.
At home, "Schalke" fought for a dramatic victory, defeating "Mainz" with a score of 2:1.
The hosts took the lead in the 36th minute of the match when Suat Serdar scored a goal into his former team's net. It was the only goal in the first half of the game.
"Mainz" managed to equalize the score in the 74th minute when Karim Onisiwo sent the ball into the net.
However, the decisive word in this match was said by "Schalke" goalkeeper Amine Harit, whose goal in the 89th minute secured the victory for the hosts.
After five played matches, "Schalke" has 10 points and has so far risen to the second place in the standings. "Mainz" with three points is currently in 16th place.
