On Friday evening, the first matches of the 16th round of the Spanish "La Liga" championship were played.
Once again, things did not go well for Madrid's "Atletico" team, currently experiencing a crisis. Diego Simeone's players were unable to beat the "Villarreal" team away, which has been collecting only losses lately.
The entire 90 minutes were a fairly even battle. "Atletico" had a few sharp situations after corner kicks, but "Villarreal" posed more danger in the game - goalkeeper Jan Oblak had to come to the rescue several times.
With neither team proving to have the advantage, the match ended in a draw.
In their last five "La Liga" matches, "Atletico" has only managed one win, and in the last ten - two. The "Rojiblancos" are currently in eighth place and after this round they could increase their gap from the leaders to 8 points.
