Despite late pressure from "Leganes" players towards the end of the match, D. Simeone's team held on without conceding.
"Rojiblancos" now have six points and share the top position with "Sevilla".
In other matches, San Sebastian's "Real Sociedad" also secured a narrow victory. In the 83rd minute, Martin Odegaard's precise shot gave them a win against "Mallorca".
For Madrid's "Real" talent, who plays on loan in San Sebastian, this was his first goal in the "La Liga" championship.
The remaining match between "Alaves" and "Espanyol" ended in a goalless draw.
