It seems that the first purchase of Real Madrid for the approaching summer will be 19-year-old left-back Theo Hernandez, who belongs to Atletico club.
"Marca" reports that T. Hernandez, who played on loan at Deportivo Alaves this season, underwent a medical examination at Real Madrid's clinic and agreed on personal contract details.
Real will officially announce the transfer after the King's Cup final, in which Alaves will compete against Barcelona on May 27. These will be Hernandez's last matches with the Alaves team.
It is said that the Champions League winners will pay 24 million euros for the young Frenchman - the buyout clause specified in his contract with Atletico.
Atletico wanted to keep T. Hernandez in their ranks, but the player himself wanted to move to Real. Another Spanish giant, Barcelona, also fought for his signature.
Real acquired T. Hernandez as a long-term replacement for Marcelo. He will provide competition for the Brazilian, as Fabio Coentrao, who was plagued by constant injuries throughout the season, will bid farewell to the Whites forever at the beginning of this summer.
This season, Hernandez played 31 games in the Spanish La Liga, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
