Four matches of the 8th round were played on Sunday in the Spanish "Primera" league.
In San Sebastian, "Real Sociedad" clashed with Madrid's "Atletico" team. Diego Simeone's team showed superiority over the Basques with a score of 0-2.
In the 9th minute, "Rojiblancos" took the lead with Antoine Griezmann, who scored steadily throughout the season, and Yannick Ferreira sealed the final score at the end of the match. It is worth mentioning that in the 89th minute and during added time, "Real Sociedad" lost two players - Diego Reyes and Jonathas were sent off the field.
In other matches, Celta Vigo managed to defeat the former leaders Villarreal in an away game. The team from Vigo extended their victory at the end of the match with a score of 1-2.
Although the visitors took the lead in the 41st minute, Denis Suarez equalized in the 67th minute. However, Celta's leader Nolito Duran managed to extend the victory in the 90th minute.
Celta now tied in points with Real Madrid and Barcelona.
In other matches, Getafe defeated Las Palmas 4-0, and Bilbao Athletic played a 2-2 draw with Deportivo.
