One of the main safeties of Madrid's "Atletico" Tiago's season is most likely already over.
The 34-year-old safety suffered a leg fracture in yesterday's match against Barcelona's "Espanyol". The painful injury was experienced by the Portuguese player in the middle of the first half, colliding with opponent striker Marco Asensio.
"After taking Tiago to the hospital and conducting examinations, it became clear that he fractured his right fibula," - it is written on the official "Atletico" website.
During this season, Tiago played in 13 matches in the "La Liga" championship, starting from the first minute in 12 of them. He was also Diego Simeone's first choice in the UEFA Champions League, but this season is most likely over for him.
