"Atletico" director: "We will not let Hernandez leave this winter"

"Atletico" Madrid executive director Gil Marinas confirmed that "Bayern" Munich wants to acquire Lucas Hernandez, but the club promises to enter negotiations only after the season ends.

"Marca" announced last week that "Bayern" is ready to buy out the defender's contract. The talks were not denied by either side - "Bayern" confirmed their interest. However, "Atletico" believes that good relations with "Bayern" will prevent any negotiations from taking place in the middle of the season.

"We maintain very good relations with "Bayern", so we will meet with them in January to discuss the situation," said G. Marinas.

"The player simply cannot leave during the winter transfer window. If he wants to be sold, we can only talk about it in July," added the director.

L. Hernandez's contract stipulates an 80 million euro release clause.
