The daily newspaper of the Spanish capital AS claims that "Villarreal" may lose one of this season's team leaders Cedric Bakambu. According to the mentioned source, Madrid's "Atletico" has started negotiations with the 25-year-old footballer. The player himself is inclined to leave the "Yellow Submarines", although they are close to entering the UEFA Champions League.
However, Diego Simeone's pupils may face competition from the "Manchester City" club. The English press had previously announced that in the summer, Pep Guardiola wants to see the "Villarreal" forward in the "Citizens" team.
C. Bakambu joined "Villarreal" last summer. This season, in the UEFA Europa League, the forward has scored nine goals, while in the Spanish "Primera" division, the French-born footballer has punished opponents' goalkeepers 12 times.
It is believed that "Villarreal" would be willing to sell the forward for no less than 30 million euros.
