On Tuesday, Spain was surrounded by another unexpected news - Madrid's "Atletico" confirmed on their official website that 22-year-old Thomas Lemar will soon become a member of the "Rojiblancos" team.
Both clubs shared statements stating that they have reached a verbal agreement on T. Lemar's transfer. It is noted that negotiations will be completed in the next few days.
According to various sources, "Atletico" will pay 65 million euros for the winger - a club record.
T. Lemar was long linked with a move to "Liverpool", but unexpectedly, "Atletico" club entered negotiations and beat out all other clubs interested in the Frenchman.
Preparing for the World Cup with the French national team, T. Lemar has been playing for "Monaco" since 2015. In total, the young footballer has played 124 matches and scored 22 goals.
