Madrid's "Atletico" today presented their new recruits at the "Wanda Metropolitano" stadium, who will join the team in January.
These recruits are two Spanish national team footballers - Diego Costa and Vitolo. Both players were acquired earlier, but due to transfer restrictions, "Atletico" can only register them from January 1st.
28-year-old winger Vitolo was acquired from "Sevilla" in the summer and spent the first half of the season on loan at "Las Palmas", while an agreement with D. Costa was reached at the end of September.
D. Costa is returning to "Atletico" after three years at London's "Chelsea" club. The Spanish striker, in an interview, expressed his joy at having the opportunity to play for this team again.
"I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. I want to get into top physical shape and help the team achieve victories. I'm tired of just training - I want to be in the spotlight and score goals," said D. Costa.
Both D. Costa and Vitolo will be able to make their debut for "Atletico" very soon. On January 3rd, the "Rojiblancos" team will face a King's Cup round of 16 match against the lesser-known "Lleida Esportiu" club.
Furthermore, the arrival of D. Costa and Vitolo likely means the departure of Nicolo Gaitano and Luciano Vietto this winter, but the candidacy of Yannick Carrasco, who has not convinced Diego Simeone with his attitude, is not ruled out.
