The struggling otter shelter in Portugal has decided to take action.
The facility, responsible for caring for 80 fate-stricken animals, is facing serious financial problems, as the upkeep of each quadruped costs around 2000 euros per month.
It is reported that the director of the facility decided to reach out to the country's hero, Cristiano Ronaldo, who promptly responded.
The leader of Madrid's "Real" sent jerseys of the "La Liga" team with his signature and suggested organizing an auction to raise as much money as possible.
"We wanted to thank Ronaldo, who showed his good heart. This is a simple, but very significant gesture," said Liliana Santos.
