The Lithuanian national football team players had to listen to the booing of the spectators on Thursday - they were seen off in this way by Raimondas Žutautas' pupils, in Kaunas, unable to defeat the Liechtenstein national team for the second time. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

At the beginning of summer, our country's team lost 0-2 to their opponents away, and now, having lost two more important points, practically lost all hope of taking second place in Group I, which would allow them to continue the fight for a ticket to the final stage of the European Championship.

Although in the first half, the hosts controlled the ball longer and rarely allowed the guests to approach the opponents' goal, they failed to create many scoring opportunities themselves.

Perhaps the most realistic chance to score was when Tadas Kijanskas hit the ball after a corner, but the defender cleared it off the goal line. Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, Žydrūnas Karčemarskas repelled a dangerous attempt by Martin Büchel from the right edge of the penalty area.
