Chile's national team leader Arturo Vidal expressed his opinion on FIFA's decision to cancel the strict punishment for Argentine Lionel Messi.
Let's remind that the 29-year-old forward was punished with a four-match disqualification for insulting the referee and had to miss the remaining World Cup qualifiers.
"I would like the rules to be the same for everyone. Of course, this is great news for Argentina, Messi, and football. It's always beautiful to watch Lionel playing on the field wearing the national team jersey, because he gives his all. However, I will repeat myself - rules should be the same for everyone," said the Chilean, presumably referring to FIFA's punishment of his compatriot Gary Medel.
A defender for the same offense had received a four-match disqualification, but now the punishment has been reduced by only a quarter.
