Over the weekend in Vilnius, the best of the Lithuanian football championships were awarded. At the LFF season closing event, winners of their organized I League and women's championship were awarded, as well as the best players, while NFKA organized the "A League" season closing celebration.
FBK "Kaunas" received the gold medals for the sixth consecutive time in the "A League," silver went to Panevėžio "Ekranas," and bronze to Klaipėdos "Atlantas." In the I League, "Šiauliai" triumphed, with "Kauno Jėgeriai" in second place and Kedainių "Nevėžis" in third. The women's league was won by Ukmergės "TexTilitė," who defeated Šiaulių "Gintra-Universitetas" in additional matches.
Just like every year, LFF organized the elections for the best player in Lithuania, with 172 respondents participating. In these elections, the 26-year-old defender A. Gedgaudas from "Kaunas" emerged victorious with 229 points. Just behind him was "Ekranas" forward P. Lukšys with 205 points, and in third place with 104 points was another "Ekranas" player M. Savėnas. The best player in the women's league was the defender J. Mačikunytė from the Šiauliai team.
The most prolific players this season were P. Lukšys (19 goals in the "A League"), E. Juška (21 goals in the I League), and the top scorer in the women's league was S. Railaitė from the champions' team.
