The head coach of London's Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, doesn't hide his interest in Porto striker Jackson Martinez and claims that he is tailored for English Premier League football.
At 28, the Colombian has shown impressive form this season, scoring 25 goals in 29 matches. European giants were already interested in the striker last summer, so in 2015 Martinez will be even more coveted.
"Martinez has important physical qualities," Wenger told a journalist for beIN Sports. "He could definitely play in the Premier League because he has exceptional abilities. He uses them very intelligently and is an excellent finisher."
"We know very well that he has attracted the attention of several clubs. Jackson will be another big purchase during the transfer window, and Pinto da Costa (Porto's president) should be very pleased," the Frenchman added.
Earlier, Martinez's agent revealed that Arsenal wanted his client's services in 2014. It is believed that the Colombian could cost up to 40 million euros after the season.
