London's head coach Arsene Wenger mentioned that the next few months will play a crucial role in the battle for the team leader. The current striker's contract is valid until the summer of 2007, and he refuses to discuss a new contract until the new year.
"I feel how passionately he loves this team and desires success for it, but the next three months will be crucial - we will find out what we can expect," said Wenger. - "We know what we want as a club, but a contract is a two-way agreement."
Arsene Wenger is convinced that excellent results on the field would persuade T. Henry to stay.
"I'm not foolish enough to talk about winning the Champions League, because for now we are playing in the groups, but we have reached the next stage and I am sure that in February the 'Gunners' will be significantly stronger."
Meanwhile, former Arsenal player Giovanni van Bronckhorst hinted that he would be delighted if Thierry Henry joined his Barcelona club.
"Thierry is a phenomenal player," he told The Sun. - "I know how good he is because I trained with him every day. He is very special and could successfully compete with other forwards here. We have a great team, but if T. Henry joined us, it would become even stronger. Such a player would be useful for any club, but he must make the decision about his future himself."
