Londono “Arsenal” club in the English Premier League not only failed to meet the expectations of the fans, but also failed to secure a place in the Champions League. The long-time team coach Arsene Wenger has already found an excuse for that.
Wenger stated that doubting his “professionalism and dedication” to the club is out of the question, and that “Arsenal” did not make it to the Champions League due to circulating rumors about his possible dismissal.
“Since January, we have played in a very difficult environment. Some of you know the reasons and it was hard for the group of players to focus. There were other reasons as well, which we will talk about in the future. Psychologically, the environment was very difficult. It was tough and of course, my personal situation also contributed to it,” - Wenger told BBC.
On Sunday, “Arsenal” defeated “Everton” club 3:1, but “Liverpool” at their home arena crushed “Middlesbrough” team 3:0, pushing Jurgen Klopp's team below “Arsenal”.
“That's it. We are in the Europa League and there is nothing we can do about it anymore,” - said Wenger.
